New Lockable IEC Power Leads

April 2009

New Lockable IEC Power Leads
In order to compliment its range of products using UK or Schuko power leads, Austin Hughes Europe has introduced a lockable IEC C13 socket that is positioned at the appliance end of the cable. The advantage of this socket is that once connected to the IEC C14 inlet the mechanism locks it to the unit ensuring that the lead cannot become accidentally disconnected. This is particularly useful in critical applications such as data centres. The socket can easily be disconnected by sliding back the small red release catch on the back of the connector.
As an optional security feature there is a tamper cover /seal available that fits over the release catch. This seal must be removed to access the release catch and so is also an instant indication that the socket has been interfered with.
